Maths Explorer Day

Maths Explorer Day

Maths Explorer Day is for Year 8-9 students who may not have considered studying maths despite having the potential to do so. Students are reminded of the importance of mathematics, and of the many wonderful career opportunities associated with a mathematics degree.

Past Maths Explorer Days have been a resounding success and have included a Maths Relay as well as a statistical game called Swap or No Swap, which encouraged students to use their skills and knowledge of probability to determine whether they should keep their box as their chance increased of winning a major prize, or to trade in their box at earlier stages in the gaming to ensure that they receive at least a prize.

Lunch and morning tea are provided and there are chances to win prizes. There is no cost for this event and it is recommended that students wear sports uniforms.
